You Are Training Your Body, Now Train Your Mind!

All top athletes and coaches agree that being able to “Go in the Zone” is the key to great sporting performance. When you achieve this flow state your confidence is high, you feel focused, completely in control of your emotions and committed to achieving your goals.

Some believe “the zone” just happens but they are WRONG!

In the same way that the world’s top athletes train their body to perform at its best, they also train their mind to perform at its best. That’s why many of the world’s top performers regularly achieve the zone state in competition. They all share distinct habits, traits and beliefs. Their successes are not random, mystical or based on chance.

For over 25 years I have been training athletes to develop powerful mental fitness, toughness and emotional control!

Let me train you!

Everyone has the ability to perform at their best in big events, but not everyone has the tools. ‘Going in the Zone’ – is a new mental fitness training system I have developed to change this, to get every athlete of all levels and ages mentally tough enough to compete.

7 Step Plan to Greater Mental Fitness

How It Works

  1. Sign Up For Your Chosen package – You can chose below for monthly or a yearly package.
  2. Arrange One-to-One Session. Meet me (or Skype with me) for 60 – 90minutes
  3. Assess Your Current Mental Fitness Level. In the same way that your sports coach assesses your strengths and weaknesses we will test your mental fitness level
  4. Set Out Your Goals. We will set out your goals together but be warned we will look at all the obstacles to you creating the success you want
  5. Create A Plan. I will give you a plan guaranteed to help you overcome each obstacle
  6. Build Your Mental Fitness/Toughness Skills. You will learn a whole new set of mental toughness/fitness training exercises to put into your plan. You MUST do these! If your coach gives you drills to do and you don’t do them you won’t improve your physical fitness. It is the same for mental fitness training.
  7. Review Your Progress and Adapt. Just like your physical fitness training plan I will look to see that you are improving your mental fitness/strength and adapt your training plan to match your results and goals. We will do this through one to one follow up sessions. Depending on your plan these sessions will either be monthly or more often if required.

What You Can Expect

If you have suffered the maddening fate of competing well one day and miserably the next. Of clamming up in races for no apparent reason. Maybe it happens when you least expect it or want it to, and it seems the more effort you spend rectifying the situation, the worse it gets. It seems like you are competing against elusive opponents called ‘nervousness’, ‘self-doubt’, ‘panic’ and ‘lapse of concentration’ then this training system is for you.

Working with me as your mental fitness trainer you will discover simple yet brilliant exercises that will guarantee that you:

  • Set and reach your goals
  • Consistently perform with confidence
  • Control fear or uncertainty
  • Compete at your best under pressure
  • Develop winning habits
  • Build mental toughness and push through the pain barrier
  • Cope with pre-event anxiety
  • Create strategic routines
  • Eliminate distractions
  • Recover faster from the physical and mental effects of crashes or injury

‘Going In the Zone’ consists of:

  • The latest sport science research
  • Sport psychology techniques
  • Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
  • Advanced imagery/visualisation/hypnosis
  • Over 25 years of experience competing and working with World Champions, and Olympic athletes.

Here are some more other reasons for you to use the Going In The Zone Programme:

  • Increase motivation just to get out and train
  • Boost motivation to stick to a diet
  • Control nervousness before the big event
  • Speed up skill learning
  • Overcome fear, uncertainty and doubt after crashes and injury
  • Sleep better before big events
  • Never lose concentration at important times again
  • Lack a real, true self belief that they can win

As you go through your personalised plan you are guaranteed no psychological babble, no vague theory and no BS. Instead, you will get simple, in everyday language what works and what doesn’t. You may also be very surprised how many of techniques can be brought into your work and everyday activities to improve other areas of your life.

Simon Linscheid – Olympic Athlete

“What surprised me most about following Alan’s visualisation session was, that sitting in a chair going through his mental program, I was able to feel impulses in the nervous system, feel the muscle twitching. I had never felt that before and that was actually quite exciting. When I went to the Olympics, and I went to major International Competitions, I was able to recreate that using his programme. I was much more focused and confident. Alan’s programme is amazing and I would recommend it highly to anybody.”

Anthony Schweppe – Professional Golfer

It happened on the fifth hole of the Portmarnock links. I was talking to my team mates, and all of a sudden I remembered something Alan had said to me in a session and it just clicked. I picked up 6 shots in 4 holes.”

Padraig Marrey – Ireland’s Highest Qualified Cycling Coach

“I would recommend his programme to all athletes, no matter what discipline you do, I would also recommend it to coaches because it gives you tools that you can bring into your sporting environment and into your coaching sessions. It has been invaluable”.

Ciaran Conlan – National Athletics coach and trainer of Inter County GAA teams

“I always get Alan to work with any team I am coaching. He always manages to get the best out of everyone and is fantastic to work with. His programme is not just informative but interactive. I can without a doubt recommend Alan’s programme.”

PJ Nolan – Former Cycling Ireland President and cycling team manager

“He manages to blend his vast amount of academic knowledge into information that is precise and easy to understand and I would have no hesitation in recommending his approach to mental preparation for either individual or team competition”

Ciaran Power – former pro-cyclist, Double RAS winner and two time Olympian

“My advice is to do Alan’s programme. His insight into how athletes think is fantastic, but his ability to simplify things is what makes him different.”

Nick O’Hare – Olympic Swimmer and national record holder

“My advice for anyone taking their sport seriously is to do some mental fitness training. I used Alan for my Olympic preparations and the results were fantastic. After doing Alan’s programme you come out brimming full of confidence and feel as if you could accomplish anything”
