Winter Training Course for Cyclists

One of the most popular courses I do for cycling clubs deals with helping members stay focused and motivated during the winter months. The course is 2 hours long and can take place on a weekday evening or a Saturday morning.

The 2 hours is filled with case studies, practical exercises with a huge emphasis on motivation and FUN.

Its called “The Complete Winter Training Guide for 2016”

Here is what the course covers:

  • Goal Setting
  • Assessing challenges that stop people from training during the winter such as:
  1. TimeWinter Training Photo
  2. Dark evenings
  3. Weather
  4. Motivation
  5. Lack of Energy 
  • Creating an action plan to overcome each of the challenges above, including tips and advice on managing time and energy with work/life/training balance
  • Sample Winter Training Sessions
  • Preparing for Winter Riding

Duration: 

2 Hours

Level of participant:

Complete beginner to racing cyclists (can be tailored to match group)

Cost:

€20pp for groups of 10 – 25

€15pp for groups of 26 – 50

€10pp for groups greater than 50

A little about my cycling background:

I have been working in the fitness industry for over 25 years and have a degree in Sport Science with some of my past work including the Australian Institute of Sport. Alan at cycle show

I am a cycling coach and a tutor with Cycling Ireland where I coach their coaches. My own passion for cycling is Ultra distance events and this year competed as part of an 8-person team that completed the Race Across America. I am also the owner and organiser of one of the worlds toughest cycle events, maybe you have heard of it or even taken part – The Race Around Ireland.
